Ottomans!

I have been needing something to kickstart my painting mojo and David Ryan at Caliver Books needed some of his wonderful Matchlock Miniatures Ottomans painted so here they are. These are NOTT53, 54 and 55 - officer, standard bearer and soup carriers which I have painted as Omar Sharif, ginger hipster and The Chuckle Brothers (to me! to you!).

These are beautiful sculpts (Mark Sims I believe) and they paint up well. I love the soup carriers, makes a change from pack mules and camels for the non-combatants.

  1. Excellent looking figures. I was going to post that I really liked what you achieved with that green color, when I second look made me realize I liked all the colors you used. What paints did you use on these fellows?

  2. Hi IG, good to hear from you again. I'm glad you asked as I may need this myself for future reference! The colours I used were:

Green - Coat d'Arms 208 Grass Green highlighted with the same with a dab of 213 Flesh (actually a cream colour rather than the usual pale orage flesh colour).

Red - Citadel Base Khorne Red highlighted with Citadel Base Mephiston Red and increasing amounts of Coat d'Arms 213 Flesh.

Yellow - Citadel Base Averland Sunset, highlighted with a mix of 213 Flesh

Blue - Vallejo Game Extraopaque 72143 Heavy Blue, highlighted with a mix of 213 Flesh

White - Vallejo Game 72095 Glacier Blue highlighted withVallejo 70951 White.

Everything was base coated and then washed in Citadel Shade Nuln Oil (blue, green bases) or Agrax Earthshade (red or yellow) before highlighting.
